I'm not being too nostalgic here--I think I could venture to say that as recently as last week, it was pleasant enough to spend a night reading over the excellent essays my Advanced Defence classes have turned in--I am truly proud of you all--and perhaps working on a project or two of my own. There is something restless about tonight, though, and perhaps it is the onset of spring (here? March, in Scotland? unbelievable!), but I don't really feel that tea and marking papers is sufficient entertainment. 41 howls| howl at the moon

We do, in fact, do a good deal of practical application in the classroom, and while I am glad to hear this is useful to you, you really must refrain from practising it other places. In other words, ten points each from Slytherin and Ravenclaw, as Knightley and Porin cannot seem to keep their wands to themselves. NEWT Prep. students, your essays will be marked and returned on Monday, so you can get to correcting them as soon as possible. Other courses, you'll get them back next week, but there are a few more creatures I want to cover before we worry about them overmuch. Between three and seven feet, in a reasonable and legible size of handwriting. Tomorrow you will meet in the library and work on them, under Madame Pince's supervision. All of my classes will meet in the library tomorrow, for independent work on assigned projects. Please direct any questions you have to Madame Pince, or mark them down to ask me when we hold classes again. Thursday morning classes will be informed that morning whether to meet in the classroom or the library.
